BIO:

Debra Granik may not have the extensive list of credits that many of her Hollywood counterparts have, but her career is no less impressive. Granik first received her B.A. in political science from Brandeis University, where she also enrolled in film and media workshops, and then went on to get her MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. The Massachusetts native is perhaps the most well-known for her 2010 film, Winter’s Bone, which became Jennifer Lawrence’s breakout role, and for which (Granik) was nominated for an Oscar for Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay.
